postal workers with guns -- pension payments

I asked a friend of mine who is from Dagestan and whose father is a
pensioner. According to him, there they don't get anything through the
mail because, as he says, "you can't trust the Dagestanian post
system." So his father still gets his pension in cash from someone who
comes and distributes it.

I'm pretty much opposed to firearms, but if I were a postal employee
carrying large amounts of cash through the streets of Makhachkala to
distribute to pensioners every month, I might consider carrying a gun
too. Or at least getting a German shepherd.
