The 8th Annual Czech Workshop will be held March 30–April 1, 2007, at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. The workshop theme is “Czechs in the New and Old Europe: New Approaches.” The keynote address, “The Czechs Without the Slovaks: Where the Past is Another Country and Nation,” will be given by Martin Votruba, Director of the Slovak Studies Program at the University of Pittsburgh. His address will be preceded by remarks by Marek Skolil, Consul General of the Czech Republic. Full program information can be found at:

The workshop is free and open to the public.
