The Department of Germanic, Russian and East European Languages and
Literatures of Rutgers the State University of New Jersey in New
Brunswick, NJ invites applications for a full-time non-tenure-track
annual and renewable position as Instructor, effective Fall 2008
(subject to budgetary approval). Appointees are expected to engage in
research and scholarly publication, and to be effective Russian language
teachers at all levels. Experience coordinating a Russian language
program, teaching both heritage and non-heritage speakers, and a
specialization in Linguistics and/or Applied Linguistics are highly
desirable. Required: Ph.D. in hand and native or near-native fluency in
Russian and English. Applicants should submit a letter of application
describing research and teaching interests, curriculum vitae and three
letters of reference to Professor Martha Helfer, Chair, Search
Committee, Department of Germanic, Russian and East European Languages
and Literatures, 172 College Avenue, New Brunswick, NJ 08901. Priority
