Dear colleagues,
There is an excellent Centre of Oral history called PROPPOVSKII TSENTR
based in the department of Slavic Philology at the University of St
Petersburg. See the website: http://www.folk.ru/
The Centre produced a CD "Russian Biographies: xxth. century". It has
a virtual museum, too. Inna Veselova and Svetlana Adon'yeva take their
students to the Noth parts of Russia every year since they tend to
focus on provincies, but I saw some scripts that refer to various
interviews taken in Moscow and St Petersburg. I've seen some work
related to Stalin's period, too. Please note that the website still
has a photograph of Natalia Gerasimova (Bitov's wife and an excellent
specialist on folklore): she died last spring unexpectedly...I've come
across some interesting interviews that they's collected: they feature
various dreams about Stalin, refer to the cult of Pushkin, everyday
life under Stalin, etc.
In sum, Svetlana Adon'eva and Inna Veselova should be able to help you
with any questions and put you in touch with other specialists working
in this area. They are both well versed in theory, too.
All best,
Alexandra
