Since the translation of these definitions may vary, I made a little inquiry in the Russian Internet and found out the following links:
for "tufli-lodochki" -- with a picture and comment: http://www.interlinks.ru/style/1690.html

(I'm sorry: the latter site contains somewhat slangish language). The next step -- to pick up the best equivalent in English -- is, I guess, up to English speakers: who knows, the translation, as I said, could be different depending on the location in America and/or Britain as well as other countries.
