The second song (Ia vam skazhu // odin sekret...), which used to be quite a hit (a 'Schlager') at the beginning of the 20th Century, has a wonderful remake, a song written based on it, and then also performed, by Alexei Khvostenko. One of the most poetic songs in all of the Russian song treasury: its ability to resurrect things from triteness is truly comparable to Pushkin's 'Egyptian Nights'. Its starts with the words "Khranite vechno tajnu etu,// ne otkryvajte nikomu: // Prinosit noch i blesk rassveta// V prozrachnykh krylyshkakh Amur". It is so beautiful!
