John Randolph, Allison Casey and I need one more participant for a
AAASS roundtable: "Envisioning Movement in Imperial Russian Culture
and History." The theme would be narratives and practices of
movement: what were the possibilities, imagined and real, for
movement within the empire? What sorts of characters (coachmen,
highwaymen, tavern and innkeepers) were encountered along the way?
What literary devices characterize movement narratives? Who is
moving, where, and why?
If you would like to join us please respond off-list.
Thanks,
Bill Nickell
