I would add a couple of differences:

1. скок does not change, has its own lexical meaning, and IS the 
predicate in the sentence.

2. a) the meaning of some of those WHAM-BAMs is revealed later,

A girl meets a bad boy and wham! Her whole life falls apart.

b) Otherwise, if we stick to the the lexical meaning in WHAM, then we 
have to use it as a verb, with appropriate grammatical endings:

he turned around, and, 'accidentally' whamed her right in the face.
