correct spelling vor v zakone

Does anyone know what the difference is between vorovsky zakone and vor v  
zakone? I have seen it written both ways in books. It is supposed to mean the  
Thieves Code, I don't know if it's simply a misspelling or two different ways 
to  write the same word.
