Google digitizing all books

Publishers know very well that they sell 300-500 copies for the most 
part of academic books, usually to the libraries. The cost of those 
books is $100-250. Not many of us can afford a library of such costly 
books. So it is not the individual buyers that affect the decision of 
the University presses.

And while there may be fewer individuals who would spend an enormous 
amount on you book, there may be a lot more readers particularly in the 
areas where your book is not available in the libraries.
