Standard and Common Czech

Hello all,

I have a keen interest in Czech sociolinguistics (Standard and Common Czech, 
diglossia, language culture and the whole discussion arising from it). Who can 
recommend any experts outside the Czech Republic (which is, all over the 
planet) dealing with the issue ?
For all of you involved in teaching or translating Czech - how do YOU handle 
non-standard? Are there any opinions how it *should* be dealt with?
