One-month Trip to Russia

Dear Colleagues,

If I'm planning to travel to Russia on a one-month tourist visa, then is it reasonable to plan on a full 30 days in the country? Or should I plan on being there for 28 days within the one-month visa window just in case--(of what)?

This is, of course, because I have to buy the plane ticket before applying for the visa. Thanks in advance for your advice.
