Chekhov's story

[Gianpaolo Gandolfo]

I have read that in 1896 Chekhov wrote a story where the building of rail
roads in Russia is shown in its positive effects, but I cannot find it in
the Polnoe sobranie sochinenij i pisem. The title should be something like
Lights.

       Can anyone help me?
