I remember how my grand mother would always refer to стакан крыжовника за 1 копейку= 200 grams of gooseberries for 1 kopeck. 2 kilos for 10 kopecks, 20 kilos for  ruble. Compare with American prices in 1905...

Dear All,

Can anyone suggest a source for comparing the ruble price of an item sold in Russia c. 1917 with its equivalent price in dollars?  I'd be very appreciative on behalf of a local resident who is editing his grandmother's letters from Russia at around this time.
