question from student re Russian vs. Ukrainain language

Maybe Spanish/Italian? That captures something of the lexical component
(Arabic influence in Spanish not shared by Italian). And captures the
different "musical styles" of the two languages, as well.
Ukrainian is the Italian in this amateurish analogy, of course :-)
