Question of stress

My 2-volume Enciklopedicheskij slovar' and the Slovar' nazvanij zhitelej SSSR (1975) agree that the stress is on the third syllable. The latter also reveals that the inhabitants are called благовЕщенцы, should that be of any interest to you.
