Opera in Imperial St. Petersburg

Hi everyone,

I'm a graduate student at Stanford and I'm currently trying to work out the chronology of Anna Karenina. When Vronsky and Anna return from Italy, it is, I believe, June, yet Anna goes to the Opera and causes a scandal.

My question is this: was it opera season in June in the St. Petersburg of the 1870s?

Any help is much appreciated.
