Dear friends,
I have spent the past two summers in the White Sea area of Russia, travelling with a small group of people interested in conserving old Russian wooden churches. One of them, English photographer Richard Davies, is giving a talk at Pushkin House (London) on the evening of 7th October, about his most recent book "Russian Types", and will also be mentioning his previous book "Wooden Churches: Travelling in the Russian North". If you would be interested, it would be lovely to see you there. Needless to say, Richard and I have set up a charity to help promote the cause of saving these beautiful buildings
