Jim McCawley

It's very sad to hear that we've lost Jim McCawley.  On the CU list Maher
Awad pointed out that it's all the more poignant Jim didn't make it to
another May.  I'd like to point out the McCawley memorial verb, which is
found in Dhegiha and Winnebago-Chiwere, where the verbs 'to kill' are all
derivatives of the form 'to cause to die'.  It has not yet been
definitively established that this was done to amuse Jim.
