Water monsters

Pythons or anacondas are large water dwelling snakes who have two "horns"
near the tail which are remnant toenails used to stimulate females during
mating. So a story from far-afield? Some say these guys could grow to be 30
feet in length- archeological evidence shows in former days they indeed did
(and not too long ago either- something to do with the old megafauna as prey-
heck in Australia there were 28 foot long goannas that lived in caves until
humans showed up, etc.).
