I guess it would probably be a good idea to write up a little blurb
mentioning what we're about too, so unfamiliar readers will have some idea
of what to expect (and not expect).

I'd like to see the conference grow some.  Or, as George W. Bush would say
"We'd like to grow the conference."  Lots of new causatives in English
nowadays.
