Sunday evening television.

I went to a screening of a 2-hour version of the miniseries last month
(the interim director of our American Indian Studies Center, Hanay
Geiogamah (a Kiowa professor of Theater Arts), was involved with the
production, and we heard a discussion by Halmi and a number of the stars
afterwards). My husband and I both enjoyed the film quite a lot. Some
aspects of the main plot are a bit predictable, I guess, but the acting
is very good and it's certainly the most Indian actors you'll see on
mainstream TV for a while. I don't recall much Indian language in it --
but it's a nice concept; we recommend it. The stories are not just
Lakhota, but also Kiowa, Mohawk, and a number of others.
