I don't know if this is relevant to this discussion, but Tony Grant is 
right about the Caddo word for chicken, except that it has a glottal stop 
at the end. -ci? is a diminutive suffix, so it's a little k'apah, whatever 
that is.

The Caddo for turkey is nu?, a short word indeed, which makes it seem as if 
they knew turkeys for a long time.
