Folks, I wasn't at the meeting, but I'll stick in my two cents anyway.
Take a good look at the publisher before you plunge into a project like
this.  Academic publishing is like everything else that comes via email:
some of it is legit, and some isn't.  Ask for examples of other books
these folks have published and decide whether you want to be part of
something similar.  Also ask about costs: in many fields, publishers
charge authors per page.  We don't do that in linguistics most of the
time, but check on how this publisher thinks.
