I'm not the best person to comment on this construction, which I have 
not studied in any detail; I think the facts are pretty much as Bob 
stated. It's not at all widespread in Muskogean -- there is no trace of 
it in Chickasaw, which is extremely close to Choctaw. So Siouan 
influence is not out of the question.
