You can get a map of the Mound City area that allows you to zoom in and out at:
http://maps.google.com/maps?q=Mound+City,+MO&oe=utf-8&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a&um=1&ie=UTF-8&hq=&hnear=0x879546234544db2d:0x5d62bcecb6e14cae,Mound+City,+MO&gl=us&ei=tAPoTZauMcyCtgfGr427Cg&sa=X&oi=geocode_result&ct=image&resnum=1&ved=0CCkQ8gEwAA
I tried clicking on all three sites mentioned below for the Ioway tribe and casino, etc. and they all gave me an "account inactivated" error. Maybe I did something wrong, but I don't understand this at all.
In any event, you can find a version of the map mentioned above also by just Googling "Mound City, MO" and clicking on the map. It will give you the necessary road map. Note that there are no bridges over the Missouri River near White Cloud. The nearest is at Rulo, NE, and from there you backtrack to White Cloud, KS. The other possibility is St. Joseph, MO, but that's out of the way if you stay at the Eagle's Nest Motel.

Pasted in below is the info Jimm sent a while back.
While we're on the subject I have a question too -- is anyone staying at the casino cabins? I reserved one of those but I'm thinking of changing to the motel, especially if everyone else is there...

> We have an exciting update regarding the 2011 Siouan and Caddoan Languages Conference, to be held Wednesday, June 15, through Saturday, June 18, 2011 at the tribal complex of the Iowa Tribe of KS and NE, which is located 6 miles NW of White Cloud, KS, at 3345 Thrasher Road, White Cloud, KS 66094 (http://www.casinowhitecloud.org/iowatribe.html).
>
> The Iowa Tribe of KS and NE has anounced a special conference rate of $30 per night on rooms at the casino cabins (http://www.casinowhitecloud.org/dining.html) and also at the Squaw Creek Eagles Nest Motel (http://www.casinowhitecloud.org/eaglesnest.html).
>
> There are ONLY FOUR casino cabins (normally $60 per night), which have a double bed and are less than one mile from the conference location, gas station & convenience store, and tribal casino, which serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner to order in addition to lunch and dinner buffets. For reservations, call 785-595-3430. Mention the Conference rate in effect. Note however, the cabins will be rented on a first come, first serve basis. In other words, the cabins will not be held on reserve. Therefore, for those who are interested and have the cabins as a preference, early reservations are advised.

> The Iowa Tribe's Eagles Nest Motel has 23 rooms (normally $50 plus $7 per additional person per night), which have two double beds and are 20 miles from the conference location. The tribe has a six passenger shuttle van that provides free transportation between the motel and the casino/ conference site. The motel is connected to a gas station & convenience store and restaurant. It is also located three miles from the scenic Squaw Creek National Wildlife Refuge (http://www.fws.gov/midwest/squawcreek/). For reservations, call 660-442-3267 or 1-866-994-1320.

Can Jimm or someone give me the details on the conference motel once more, including driving instructions? I've had a request from Justin who has changed his email address and isn't getting this list any longer. I'll forward the answers to him.
