I am pleased to announce the acceptance (or very nearly so) of American
Sign Language as usable toward New York University's College of Arts and
Science's foriegn-language requirement. Fuller information is avaliable on
the World-Wide Web at the URL below. If you do not have access to the WWW,
contact me for fuller info.
This is being posted to sci.lang, bit.listserv.deaf-l, nyu.general,
nyu.chat, and alt.society.deaf, with followups to be sent only to the
latter. It is being sent to the Linguist and SLLING lists. It is being
sent to individuals who asked for this information (I hope I got all of
you!) and to a few who I thought might be interested in it.
