Subject: The written language of deaf learners

Hi

I'm presently supervising a student who is doing a masters
on the written language of deaf/hearing impaired learners
(either at primary or secondary school levels).  She is
particularly interested in 'creativity' in language, but all
references on the topic would be most welcome - as would any
advice or suggestions.
