I've seen the French abbreviation LST used as an abbreviation used for
Tunisian Sign Language. The LST glossary which I have seen is titled
qaamuusu lughat il-ishaarat it-tuunisiyyati (dictionary of Tunisian Sign
Language), which tells us what it's called in Arabic.

As to Angus' question, I recall a talk long ago by Carol Padden (are you
out there?) about an interview with an elderly Deaf gentleman, who, when
asked what his language preference was (ASL, MCE, PSE, etc.), his answer
was something along the lines of "We used to just call it signing." My
experience (including with the very few Turkish Deaf people I have met)
has supported that statement.

What would the Turkish abbreviation be, anyway... IDT?

Cheers,

Dan.
