Good afternoon all,

Online registration for the IDR2018 conference is now open and will close on the 2nd of November. For planning purposes, we ask that all attendees register online beforehand.

This year, there are no registration fees. All attendees may register here (https://islresearchforum.wordpress.com/registration/<https://islresearchforum.wordpress.com/registration/>), at no charge.

Registered attendees will enjoy full access to talks and poster session, the book of abstracts, ISL interpreter service as well as refreshments during the coffee breaks.

IDR2018 – Is the inaugural Irish Deaf Research Conference on Irish Sign Language and Deafness
In December 2017, the Irish Sign Language Recognition Bill was signed into law by the President of Ireland. This marked a historic moment for sign language users across the State. In tandem with this, work has been developing on a range of issues that map to key points addressed in the legislation, namely language description, language rights, access to civil society via interpretation, the right to equal access to education, employment and self-determination.

The Irish Deaf Research Network (IDRN) is pleased to host the inaugural Irish Deaf Research Conference IDR2018 on Irish Sign Language and Deafness, hosted by the Centre for Deaf Studies in the Trinity long room hub, Trinity College, Dublin on Friday, November 9th, 2018.
