I am Marianna Hatzopoulou from Athens, Greece.

As a Greek Sign Language Interpreter and teacher for the Deaf, I am ahearing member of the Deaf community, and I have worked closely with theHellenic Federation of the Deaf for more than twenty- five years. 

The Hellenic Federation of the Deaf needs your help on the followingSurvey.    

Since last  October 2019 the HellenicFederation of the Deaf (HFD) ,the Deaf People Association (DPAM), in Malta, theUnion of the Deaf in Bulgaria (UDB), the University of Western Macedonia (UWM),the Kindergarten for the Deaf and hard of hearing of Argyroupolis (KDA) and thecompany Open Pedia (OP), in Greece have been participating in an internationalproject in the framework of ERASMUS + called: “Sign Links” Deaf Adults as RoleModels for the Hearing World: Links of the same chain (KA204-115AAAAD).

Within this project we survey the role of Deaf adults as Role Models forsupporting families of deaf children and hearing practitioners.

Our aim is to map the existing practices used in Europe to supportparents of deaf and hard of hearing children and the role of Deaf adults toenhance hearing adults’ capacities and communicational skills on Sign Language,in order to be able to adjust to the socio-linguistic needs of deaf and hard ofhearing children.
