From ssila at listserv.linguistlist.org Thu Apr 2 12:03:21 2015 From: ssila at listserv.linguistlist.org (Society for the Study of the Indigenous Languages of the Americas) Date: Thu, 2 Apr 2015 07:03:21 -0500 Subject: [SSILA] SSILA Call for Prize and Award Nominations Message-ID: Dear SSILA Member: Each year at its annual winter meeting, SSILA presents three awards: The Mary R Haas Book Award , presented to a junior scholar for an unpublished manuscript that makes a significant substantive contribution to our knowledge of Native American languages; The Ken Hale Prize , presented in recognition of outstanding community language work and a deep commitment to the documentation, maintenance, promotion, and revitalization of indigenous languages in the Americas; and The Victor Golla Prize , presented in recognition of a significant history of both linguistic scholarship and service to the scholarly community. Nominations for the Hale and Golla Prizes are due on May 1 and submissions for consideration for the Haas Award are due June 15.
