Hello Dan!
Angus is correct to direct you to Antonio Carlos da Rocha Costa in
Brazil. And it is true that SWML is under development. Here is a
listing of computer programs that have been started, that use
SignWriting:

SIGNWRITING TEXT EDITORS:
SignWriter 4.4 in DOS
SignWriter 5.0 in Java (under development)

SIGNWRITING DATABASE EDITORS:
SignBank 2002
SignDic (Brazil)

SIGNWRITING GRAPHICS EDITORS:
SignEd (Brazil)
SignTalk (Brazil)
SignSym (Brazil)
SignMaker (Brazil)
TegnBank (Denmark)
ASLLA by Andy Vehara

OTHER SIGNWRITING SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENTS:
SW TrueType Fonts
SWML (SignWriting Markup Language)
SW in Unicode (SW Universal Character Set)

I bet there are others who are developing software? Any new projects we
can add to this list?...

Val ;-)
