SignWriting List
January 13, 2003

Hello Everyone, and Marianne!
Thank you for your question, and congratulations on your many
SignWriting projects and studies in Brazil! I believe you are the first
person to teach SignWriting to Deaf children in Brazil?...You have
accomplished so much...

Regarding your doctorate on SignWriting ...you want to know what
universities around the world might accept such a dissertation?...I
would suggest you contact the following people....I will tell you about
each person one by one...

1. Dr. Cecilia Flood just completed her dissertation about SignWriting
and Deaf Children at the University of New Mexico, in Albuquerque, in
Educational Linguistics. Perhaps you would like to travel to
Albuquerque to study at the same university? Write to Dr. Flood for
information on who to contact...Since her university accepted her
thesis on SignWriting, her same advisors might possibly be open to a
second dissertation about SignWriting and Deaf children?....

I hope you will write to each other...

I will post more messages about other universities later....

Val ;-)
