Need your advice...which compression should I use?

Dear SW List Members:
I am in the process of uploading a series of new web postings:

1. New SignBank
2. Swiss-French SignWriter DOS
3. SignWriter 5.0 Mac OS X

Plus I want to update the other compressed files on our web site, since
some of them use a compression software that is out-of-date and some
users are having problems de-compressing them...

Therefore I need to know...what compression software works best for you?

..exe (Windows only)
..zip  (Mac and Windows)
..sit   (Mac and Windows)

Any other suggestions?

What amazes me, is how easy it is, to use .exe on Windows. It makes me
wonder why people prefer .zip...there has to be a reason. What is it?
