printing from SW Java question

hi Valerie,
I'm back with my question about how to print from SW Java on my Mac (OSX).
You told me I would need to capture the screen using Photoshop or another
paint program, and at the time I didn't have such a program so I had to wait
to get one. Now, thanks to my university's site license, I have access to
Photoshop 7 - but it looks quite complicated and I don't know how to use it,
and the books I saw seemed to be mostly about working with photos. So -
sorry to trouble you - but could you explain a little more step by step what
I need to do to use it to print from SW Java? (You also said something
about using Acrobat to make a pdf file to print more than a page at a time?)
Eventually it would be nice to be able to intersperse the SW with text,
since I'm trying to transcribe a video and then gloss and translate it for a
linguistics paper that will be read by people who don't know ASL. So if
someone figures out how to make the SW editor work for Macs (or has other
ideas) I'll be grateful! I'm very slow at learning tech stuff.
Because I need to have several lines of gloss and translation for each sign
sentence, I have been transcribing in horizontal lines so I can put the
English words underneath. I understand the reasons for writing SW
vertically, but don't think it will work for this project. I'll try to use
head placement to give an idea of spatialization when necessary.
Meanwhile I'm enjoying learning SW! (I did have one question about a sign
in the SW Java dictionary - "curious" - it's listed with the hand black but
it seems to me the palm should be facing the signer, or at least sideways?)
Thanks for your always generous help.
Nancy Emery
