Hello Stefan and Everyone!
No. I did not write a typo! If the lowest finger is straight forward,
it is an Angle or Hinge Handshape as the base, or Rootshape, as in this
diagram. This cannot be a square. A square means that the fingertips
touch the palm of the hand. But no fingers touch the palm of the hand
in this diagram:
The lowest fingers are straight forward, so they form the Rootshape,
which is an Angle:
