Hi Bill,
I am storing the internal design of the signs added to Sign Puddle with Sign
Maker.
I added the graphic drama with Sign Maker. The image file is located:
http://www.oculog.net/puddle/dict/sl/drama.png
The information to build this file is located:
http://www.oculog.net/puddle/dict/sl/drama.bld
The contents of the build file is:
03-06-001-01-01-02,69,88,03-06-001-01-01-03,95,108,03-02-002-01-01-01,69,88,
03-02-002-01-01-03,95,108,
To break this down, it is a combination of SSS id and XY coordinates.
03-06-001-01-01-02 @ ( 69, 88 )
03-06-001-01-01-03 @ ( 95, 108 )
03-02-002-01-01-01 @ ( 69, 88 )
03-02-002-01-01-03 @ ( 95, 108)
The information in the build file can be used with a php script I created:
image.php. Using this script is easy.
http://www.oculog.net/puddle/image.php?build=03-06-001-01-01-02,69,88,03-06-
001-01-01-03,95,108,03-02-002-01-01-01,69,88,03-02-002-01-01-03,95,108,
Opening this page will display the symbol.
So, it should be possible to edit existing symbols. I just need to create
the design and add the code.
Unfortunately, the previous signs added to the Sign Puddle dictionary have
problems with the build files. Some of the symbols use the old SSS-US
numbers. The other signs have the XY coordinates as the center of the
symbols, rather than the upper-left. (Poor design choice)
Probably too much information but...
-Stephen

Stephen,
I noticed that Val managed to insert a whole sign. I'm not exactly sure
how she did that, I couldn't find a way to do it just in the browser itself.
That made me wonder if there could be a way to drop in an existing sign in
the dictionary and then change it?
For that to be possible, each part of the sign would need to be stored in
the dictionary as part of the sign, similarly to how each letter of a word
is stored as part of the word in a dictionary or other document. Is this
possible?

No major problems yet? Great to hear. It even works on the Mac? Awesome!
I am working on several additional features:
Delete individual signs
Fine tune movement
SignWriter controls: flip, rotate, ...
Then I'll install on SignBank and update the download.

Dear SW List, Stephen, Bill, Charles -
This is sooo cool. Really great design and quite impressive. Thank you,
Stephen.
Mac Safari Browser
I am now testing SignMaker drag and drop features on Safari, a browser
that was designed by the Mac for the Mac...It works well on Safari,
which is good, since most Mac users use Safari.
Take a look at the attached screen capture. I drag-dropped a whole
sign! The sign for THINK. But notice the 5-Hand down at the bottom.
That was a mistake and I wanted to clear that hand away...How do you
clear just one handshape, without clearing the whole sign?
