Sign Language Codes continued....
As you know, in Canada there are two official spoken languages:
Canadian English
Canadian French
and these two regions of Canada are not speaking dialects of one
language...they are speaking two totally different and unique
languages...
Same with Belgium and Switzerland....
Belgian Flemish (name for the Dutch that is spoken in Belgium)
Belgian French
Swiss French
Swiss German
Swiss Italian
And although these regional languages are certainly close to the
French, German or Italian spoken in France, Germany and Italy, they are
not exactly the same...and they actually type their spoken languages
differently, with a different keyboard layout...depending on the
country.
If you think that all German speakers type exactly the same around the
world...it is not true. Typing German in Germany does not have the same
keyboard layout as typing German in the German-speaking section of
Switzerland...so keyboard layouts became established by country regions
rather than by language...
So country-regions have unique language codes too, because of the
countries that have multiple languages...
Continued next message...
Val ;-)
