OK. First, the handshape that you suggested in your diagram would be 
the Middle Finger straight up, because the Index Finger is always on 
the side of the square or the base of the Angle Hand...as you can see 
in these Index handshapes...(see attached)...

And there are other numerous examples I can show you...the Angle hand 
base is skinnier than a square, but it still follows the same rules of 
Handshape Construction...the Index Finger is on the side of the symbol, 
the Middle Finger is in the middle and the baby finger is on the other 
side...

Here are some of the Index Finger handshapes...the one you are talking 
about is Index on Angle, number 01-01-006...as far as palm facings 
go...you just choose what one you want to use out of the 96 possible 
palm facings...
