ASL "hesitate"; duplicate entries

Hello all:
I'm back to putting signs on Puddle, and have 2 queries:
1 -- why is the sign for "Knock" in the ASL puddle 3 times? I only put it
in once!!
2 -- am getting feedback from a signing friend that "something is missing"
from the way I spelled the sign for "hesitate". ASL speakers -- how would
you all spell it better?? For those who want to see the sign itself, you
