FLANDERS Adding Arm Lines When Palm Facing Is Not Clear

Dear SW List, Kathleen, Kristof and everyone -
There are several handshapes that need arm lines, occasionally, when
a palm facing is not clear. The Fist and the Circle are two
handshapes that, when the palm facing is white or black, is not that
clear. You cannot see if the hand is directed up or down, with the
basic white square or basic white circle, for example.
Although some people do not feel the need of that information, others
do, and that is fine! SignWriting started using a full stick figure,
and that problem did not exist when we always had arms!
So here is an example how the arm lines can be attached, when writing
a sign like JAAR or YEAR in Flemish Sign Language...We have similar
signs in the US too...I will do the signs for OPDRACHT and ZAK next
message...
Notice in the two examples attached, the first one has the elbows
down, and the second one has the elbows out to the side...
