Dear Hope Hurlbut,
Please could you provide me with some information with respect to the work you did on Malaysian Sign Language. Most importantly would be contacts here in Malaysia so that I could get them to evaluate a computer program I intend to develop.
I am a postgraduate student of the University of Nottingham Malaysia Campus, and I am conducting research on how Sign Writing can be incorporated in text messaging (SMS(Short Message Service)) capability of mobile phones. The program I intend to develop would allow people to send texts written in Sign Writing using mobile phones. It would form a part of my thesis.
Thank you. Awaiting your response.
Kind Regards,
Aisha Shamsuna Ahmed

Hello Aisha and Everyone -
The Malaysian Sign Language research was done by Hope Hurlbut
(hope_hurlbut at SIL.ORG), from Canada, who moved to Malaysia to study
the Malaysian Sign Languages, and write them in SignWriting, under
the auspices of the Summer Institute of Linguistics (SIL).
If you go to our web site, and you click on the Search icon at the
top, and type in Malaysian Sign Language, and then press Search,
these are just a few of the many many links you will find
below...Plus you can also search our List Archives - http://
