I am confused. I'm looking at the SignBank symbol list and don't
understand these differences:
01-001-007, Index Bent, version 1
01-001-008, Index Bent, version 2

These two symbols are really one symbol with 10 palm facings, instead
of 6. The only way for us to truly have a consistent IMWA is to have
10 palm facings for every handshape. This means instead of 6 fills,
there will be 10.
Then the above two symbols would become one symbol...01-01-007.
This would add a huge amount of symbols to the IMWA, plus SignBank
and SignMaker do not have the grid for 10 fills...it would literally
force a change in the programming of SignBank, and I do not have the
money to pay the programmer to do that. So right now I can't even add
the 10 palm facings as one symbol in SymbolBank, even if I wanted to...
So I tried to find a way around it...
I created two symbols from the 10 palm facings....
I keep thinking about it and maybe Steve and I can come up with
another way of handling these rare cases...
Or never include the rare cases at all...that would also make it
consistent.
But if we want the rare cases to exist in the IMWA, then we are stuck
with some inconsistencies.
Val ;-)
