[sw-l] New Signs in BSL Dictionary

Val,

I thought the BSL sign for "house" came from ASL because of the "h" shape -
in the old days, people used my first sign for "house".

YOUR SUGGESTION - wonderful - I like that.

Sandy got the sign-spelling wrong - I know I'll prolly do the same myself as
Sandy and I are still in our cotton nappies - but Sandy and I are doing the
same sign - you're more brave than me, Sandy!!! - but I'll go for your
suggestion, Val, because its clear and simple - its important to keep signs
short and simple (same for Chinese characters I suppose)

But be careful - unlike ASL, NISL and proper BSL depends HEAVILY on the
context - for instance, u can't use it to sign "bank house" - you have to
use the old "roof" sign ;) - some oralies (deafies whose first lang is
English) would sign it as "bank build-up" *clings*

Yeah - I like your suggestion, Val.
