Hi Kathleen,
I've just seen all the examples. I think you're right, the best solution for younger children are the colored frames, whereas the brackets seem best for older readers. But instead of the faces for the signers, I'd prefer their sign names.

Hello,
In dialogue 4 I used the brackets I saw in Ingvild example.
In dialogue 5 it's the eyegaze and the shoulders that indicate which person is signing.
In dialogue 6 it's the same as dialogue 5 but I added some colour to make it more clear. (but colour isn't always an option if you have only one ink cartridge a year you can use :s
