Thanks for the clarification. There should be a "search by handshape" feature in the email feature of Sign Puddle so that one could search and plop into an email with no gloss without having to retype a sign all the time if it isn't "direction dependent". Unfortunately ASL and all other signed languages that I know of have "locatives" which will require multiple lanes. Now we are getting into the nitty gritty of a daily writing system that is beyond a dictionary.

SignWriting List February 6, 2006
Hello Charles -
I assume you mean sending email from SignPuddle?...using glosses? yes. That is much bigger.
But Cherie is not using that program to send email...She is sending email from a new feature in SignText, which doesn't have to use a gloss to get a sign...you compose directly in SignWriting without any word glosses...
So we now have TWO ways to send email in SignWriting:
SignPuddle Mail program using word-Glosses (old program everyone knows)
SignText Mail Program creating signs directly in SignWriting (no word glosses)
it is the latter one that is new and Cherie and Ingvild are the first two to send us email using SignText...

What happened to the "letter" function in the SignPuddle? Is it not long enough to show this? It had a much larger capacity before.

That's not the whole thing... it loads missing the last 3 signs, which is better than the other time, where it was missing the last 6 or so...

Re: [sw-l] length limit
Hi Cherie, This is a copy of the original writing that you sent to the list. Press the `Load into SignText` but! ton, wait for all of images to load, and then press refresh. You should have your whole sentence. Then go to the bookmark page and add a new bookmark. This new bookmark should contain the whole sentence. -Steve
