Everyone -
I actually think that it would be a good idea to ask Steve to save
all the signs that are only-graphics, and place them in a separate
folder and I can get them up on the web in another way, and we can
refer to them, a little like referring to an old dictionary, but they
will not be a part of the real SignPuddle for ASL on the web. That
way, we will only have signs that are created in SignPuddle, in the
ASL SignPuddle, which means they will all load properly into SignText
and they all will be SWML...
I think trying to clean up the dictionary right now is intolerable,
because out of the 5 versions of a sign, three are graphics and two
are new in SWML and just to know which ones to throw out and which
ones to keep is exhausting and I do not foresee us ever truly
cleaning it properly...
If we take away all the graphics files, we will currently have a
smaller ASL dictionary online, but it will fill up quickly with new
signs in its place, because people will miss and need those signs...
I hope you all agree with me, because I do not see another way to
rectify the problem...we have to re-enter them no matter what sooner
or later, but at least we will not get confused with a hodgepodge of
different computer formats in the same dictionary...
Is this ok with all of you, if we delete all the graphics-only-files,
from the ASL SignPuddle, so it is pure SWML?
of course we will not do this to the German SignPuddle unless
everyone in Germany wants us to do that...smile...
ASL people...how do you feel having a clean SWML ASL SignPuddle? I
think in the long run we will have less frustrations...
Val ;-)
