Everyone,

Today I was teaching Northern Ireland Sign Language to primary school
kids (not deaf) aged 9 to 11 - for today's exercises, I used some
sample pages from Val's Goldilocks (level one) as there's a lot of ASL
signs in Northern Ireland Sign Language which is great - and some from
Stef's excellent workbook/thingy.

They picked it up very well - they have enjoyed drawing, working out
and actually signing to themselves which is great - they have started
to realise that NISL is a language, not a system of gestures - they
realised that NISL is as good as Irish or English (it is a
Irish-speaking school) which is wonderful.

I will try and develop the NISL sw workbook using me experiences and
everyone's expertise/experience on the SW list :-)

Ingvild: im a lot more confident with my SW - thanks to you! :-)

Shane

Stef: thank you for your brilliantly-done book - we ll want it to
translated into English with NISL & ISL!!!
