Val,
    On this page the example of the surface symbols with surface
parallel with the wall (the second example), how would I know which
surface symbol goes with which hand (or also, which of the two hands is
closest to me)?
    Thank you for pointing me to these lessons.  The surface symbols are
getting clearer all the time.
